At KSN Foundation, our mission is to implement and support programs focused on good citizenship. These programs will strengthen individual character, promote community service values and foster self-esteem.
The purpose of KSN Foundation is to honor the memory of Kendal (leader) Sophia (wisdom) Nedab who, with a purpose fulfilled, received her heavenly wings June 14,2015, just shy of her thirteenth birthday. Through charitable service, KSNF will support efforts to promote character, leadership and career development as well as the awareness of Pulmonary Hypertension.
We support a variety of programs that will have a "character impact" on our community, including There is Joy in Giving, Citizenship Scholarship Awards, Clear Paths and Leadership Development, as well as youth Sports Sponsorship. Our goal is to empower individuals and enhance their self-esteem while promoting compassion and kindness. Our impact is only as great as the availability of our funding.
At KSN Foundation, we offer an opportunity to give back to the community. "There is Joy in Giving" is a signature program centered around Kendal's birthday where students are able to earn school service hour credits assembling gift bags of clothing for children in shelters. The bags will be forwarded to Prince George's County Maryland's Health and Human Services agencies for proper distribution. The first event was held using Kendal's items and some of her own handmade jewelry assisting with the assembly were some of her classmates, family, and friends.
There are other donor opportunities under this program. KSN Foundation can assist with coordinating activities that will allow youth to experience the benefit of "giving."
Many scholarships recognize academic achievements. Few recognize exemplary behavior and exceptional character. The Citizenship Scholar Award does just that. Its foundation is in Micah 6:8 and Philippians 2:3-4.
The first Citizenship Scholar Awards have been given to Clinton Grace Christian School of Clinton, Maryland (formerly Grace Brethren Christian School). Kendal was a student there and an Honorary Graduate of the Class of 2020. Over $5,000 in scholarships have been issued to those who were nominated by fellow students and exemplified exceptional acts of kindness in accordance with Micah 6:8 and their school code of conduct.
KSN Foundation looks forward to securing partners that will enable more awards like this to be given to other students in the community. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Intelligence plus character – that is the real goal of true education.” At KSN Foundation we believe "character still counts."
We are proud to partner with community organizations and businesses to support our mission. Our partnerships enable us to expand our reach and supply resources and services to those who desire to provide career, college, vocational, the Arts, and leadership development programming. This may include workshops, seminars, field trips, etc.
Many youth and young adults find their character building through sports. KSN Foundation knows this firsthand and includes youth sports organizations seeking to provide players with opportunities to develop skills and self-esteem. Securing resources to assist these organizations bring "character to the court" is paramount of r KSN Foundation. It's more than just the game; it's lifetime skill building. Kendal's surviving younger brother is a basketball player. She often attended practice and games with him.
With the assistance of our community, we can make a charitable impact assisting families with children affected by pulmonary hypertension. This can be in the form of travel support, food for siblings, etc.
We encourage supporting the important work done by Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). CHOP is where Kendal made many clinical visits. Their donor drive effort is through The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation. The memorial link for Kendal's page is:

Programs of community service that will allow youth to engage in "giving" while earning service credit hours. Donations support supplies and materials needed for distribution such as clothing and toiletries for youth in local shelters.
Scholarships recognizing exemplary behavior and exceptional character including kindness, compassion, and humbleness. Sponsors would enable the continuity of the current award at Clinton Grace Christian School in Clinton, Maryland as well as enable more awards in the community.
Partnerships to provide resources supporting educational seminars which help to guide sustainable choices and build self-esteem. Included are those youth sports programs that seek to develop the "whole" athlete with life skills.
